What is Co Location Hosting?
Co-Location hosting is a server that you own, that you house in one of our data centers.

Co-Lo hosting is the most ideal way for a company to utilize a server in the most effective way for their needs. A "server" is a generic term used to identify a computer that sends and receives information. However, there are many different kinds of "servers" that each do different functions. For instance, the server that houses a web site, is called a web server. Other kinds of servers include FTP, email, or a print server. These are just examples as there are literally hundreds of uses for a server.

When you choose to house a Co-Lo server in one of our data centers, you can determine the specifications of that server to meet your needs. Every type of server requires different software, specifications, or hardware. We can build you a server based on the specifications that you supply us, or you can provide us with a pre built server to be housed at the data center.

Why would it be beneficial to use Co-Location instead of "leasing" a dedicated server?
We build our dedicated servers to serve a generic, web based, need. Most of our customers utilize the same server side software and require the same type of hardware (hard drive space, RAM, CPU etc.) specifications. In many instances, a pre-built server will not have the requirements to fit the practical applications you wish to run.

If your company utilizes a mutual client database that is to be shared between several offices throughout the world, a Co-Location server is more than likely the best option for you. Anonymous Hosting can customize the server to fit your database's needs, and provide the appropriate security software to prevent your information from being attacked from unauthorized parties.

The final benefit to using a Co-Location server is the easiest to explain. The server is yours. Period. If you should choose to leave the Anonymous Hosting network, we will carefully package your server up, and send it back to you with all of your information intact.

Pricing
Co Location pricing is based off what is called "rack space" when ordering a Co-Location server. If you purchase a server that takes up two mounting brackets of the rack, this is called a 2u server (2 unit). If you wish to house more than one server in a single data center, we can usually offer a discounted price if you order a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or a full rack.
